UK and Ecuador row over Assange

Item thumb

Ecuador's embassy in London remains surrounded by police this morning - after Wikileaks founder Julian Assange was warned he won't get free passage out of the city.

He was granted asylum by Ecuador yesterday.

But he still faces arrest and deportation to Sweden over allegations of sexual assault.

Police have not ruled out storming the embassy which they can do after one week's notice under British law.
