A rare Sex Pistols 7'' vinyl single sold for just under $20,000 at auction over the weekend. The record is a 7 inch promotional acetate and features the band's seminal single 'God Save the Queen' and album track 'No Feelings'.
The record was put out on the L.T.S record label, which makes it a substantial rarity. According to the sellers' listing; "This is one of only two copies known to exist."
During the Pistols short-lived career, they were dropped a number of times by various record labels due to their controversial image and musical output, meaning a number of their singles were pressed by vinyl plants only a handful of times.
The record sold on Ebay for $19,672, which is substantially more than the price received for the other L.T.S pressing of 'God Save The Queen', which fetched $16,000 in 2006.
