Fionn Regan says there's a strong country influence on his new album.
The musician says he took in a lot of country shows on his last tour of the US, after the success of his Mercury nominated debut album The End of History.
The Bray musician, who plays a gig in Vicar Street this weekend, has previously cited Bob Dylan and Neil Diamond among his influences.
Yesterday he told Phantom's Finest Worksongs that his new album 'The Shadow of an Empire' definitely has a country feel:
"I did get to see a lot of country acts traveling around America, so I think that definitely bled back into the work. You know, I think I can see a lot of crossover between Irish music and country music and that definitely played a part in it."
