Bishop asks parish to pray for sunshine

Item thumb

Bishop Denis Brennan of the Ferns diocese has called for his parishioners to pray for good weather this weekend to aid the local farmers of Wexford in their business.

The epiphany came about when Bishop Brennan (no relation of Len) met a local farmer, whose business has been suffering due to the weather, culminating in the cancellation of an agricultural show in Wexford. Although prayers were initially to be held over the weekend, it became apparent that the Bishop had used his connections to launch a pre emptive strike on Mother Nature. However it is now reported that connections between Bishop Brennan and the sky have hit a stumbling point, most probably in the form of a large raincloud.

The heat of Thursday afternoon was in stark contrast to the washout with followed in the evening, and continued this morning., it remains unclear if communications will be reconnected soon, but hopefully God can put aside world hunger for a few more days and keep his focus on those poor farmers of Wexford!
