Accused Treebhoowoon may sue police

Avinash Treebhoowoon will meet with his lawyer today to discuss the possibility of suing the Mauritian police. This comes in the aftermath of both Treebhoowoon and his work colleague Sandip Moneea’s acutance of the murder of Michaela McAreavey, who was found dead in the Legends Hotel in January of last year.

Both men broke down in tears in hearing the verdict, while members of the McAreavey walked out of the courtroom, clearly in anger and shock.

Treebhoowoon’s lawyer Sanjeev Teeluckdharry has revealed that his client’s life will struggle to return to normal life due to the severity of the accusations which had been thrown at him. He also criticized the handling of the affair by the Mauritian police, who supposedly beat the young man into signing an admission statement.

He proceeded to claim that the reputation of the country had been damaged, before finishing by saying that he hoped the inquiry is re-opened.

The deceased’s husband is expected to return to Ireland this weekend, no closer to finding the identity of his wife’s murderer.
